The Palm Springs residence in California, belonging to TV and film writers and producers Terence Winter and Rachel Winter, is now available on the market for $2.45 million. Last summer, according to property records, the Winters acquired the property as a second residence for $2.265 million.

Rachel expressed in an email, “Having grown up in L.A., I never imagined I’d have a home in Palm Springs. Terry, being from Brooklyn, didn’t even know about Palm Springs until his first visit in his mid-30s. Over time, Palm Springs became our cherished getaway spot, whether as a family or a couple.”

The primary bedroom boasts a fireplace and views of the golf course and the mountains.

Named Via Lazo, the dwelling was previously owned by Jack Quigley, the former general manager of Palm Springs’ Indian Canyons Golf Resort. Quigley boasted connections with luminaries like Ronald Reagan and Bob Hope, as per the listing agents. Notably, he co-hosted the 1968 Governors Gala with Richard Nixon, held in the property’s front yard overlooking the 7th hole of the golf course.

Rachel, whose producing credits include “Dallas Buyers Club” (2013) and “The Space Between” (2021), remarked, “The Indian Canyons area has everything one could desire.” Terence Winter, aged 63, is recognized for his roles as a producer on “The Sopranos” and “Boardwalk Empire,” as well as a writer for the 2013 film “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

The vibrant atmosphere of the restaurants and bars, along with the convenience of being near the Casino in downtown, greatly appeals to us.”

The single-level, 2,642-square-foot abode dates to 1962.

The primary residence features a family room adorned with a fireplace and boasts vistas of the San Jacinto Mountains. Additionally, it encompasses a chef’s kitchen complete with bespoke walnut cabinetry and four bedrooms, among them a primary suite with scenic views of the grounds and mountains, according to the listing. A detached casita provides another bedroom.

Externally, the property offers a secluded three-hole putting green, a bean-shaped swimming pool, a hot tub, an outdoor kitchen with a shaded pergola, and a fire pit.

“Given our background in entertainment, both the literal and metaphorical change in scenery has become essential and enriching,” remarked Rachel. “When I recline on a chaise in the backyard of Via Lazo, gazing at the clear blue sky, fluffy white clouds, towering palm trees, and the encircling mountains—it might sound silly, but I feel serene, thankful, and content.”
