Hulk Hogan’s Clearwater Beach Mansion Drops to $6.9 Million After Nearly $4 Million in Price Cuts

Hulk Hogan’s former Clearwater Beach mansion has taken another dramatic step down in price, with the Gulf-front estate now asking $6.9 million—roughly $4 million below the price at which it first entered the market earlier this year.

The three-story Mediterranean-style residence at 1040 Eldorado Avenue was originally listed for $10.989 million in January, about six months after Hogan’s death. A series of reductions has since brought the asking price into considerably different territory, with the latest $1 million cut reported on Sept. 3, 2026. Realtor.com first reported the newest reduction.

For a property with direct Gulf of Mexico frontage, five bedrooms and a history tied to one of professional wrestling’s most recognizable figures, the new price represents a notable repositioning in the Clearwater Beach luxury real estate market.

A Gulf-Front Home With a Larger-Than-Life History

Hogan, whose real name was Terry Gene Bollea, purchased the Clearwater Beach mansion in April 2012 for approximately $3.33 million, according to property records. Four years later, he acquired the neighboring residence at 1038 Eldorado Avenue for $1.6 million, creating a two-property waterfront compound.

The neighboring cottage is not included in the current $6.9 million offering. It was subsequently marketed separately, giving prospective buyers a rare glimpse into how Hogan used the two properties: the larger mansion served as his principal residence, while the smaller house functioned as a guest retreat.

Hogan spent much of his later life in the Tampa Bay area, and Clearwater had been part of his real estate story for decades. Mansion Global previously reported that he purchased his first Clearwater home in 1989, underscoring the wrestler’s longstanding connection to Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Hogan died on July 24, 2025, at age 71 after suffering a heart attack. His death occurred at the Clearwater Beach residence, adding an unusually personal chapter to the property’s history.

The ownership story is somewhat more complicated than the celebrity narrative suggests. Court-related reporting indicated that Hogan’s Clearwater real estate was not simply treated as part of the roughly $5 million estate described in his will. The properties had been transferred into a trust associated with Hogan and his then-wife, Jennifer McDaniel, in 2017, according to Pinellas County records.

For buyers, that distinction matters: the current sale concerns a specific property and parcel, rather than the entire waterfront compound once controlled by Hogan.

A Mediterranean Estate Facing the Gulf

Built in 2009, the Clearwater Beach mansion was designed in a Mediterranean-inspired style that feels deliberately different from the sleek glass-and-steel architecture found elsewhere in Florida’s luxury market.

The residence encompasses roughly 5,400 square feet across three levels, although current property records and listing databases may display approximately 5,074 square feet of living area. The lot measures about 0.14 acre, with the home positioned directly along the Gulf of Mexico.

A pair of sweeping curved staircases rises from the driveway toward the main entrance, immediately establishing the formal character of the residence. Inside, the design mixes teak flooring with marble and natural-stone finishes, chandeliers and other decorative details.

The main entertaining level occupies the second floor. An open living and kitchen area looks directly toward the Gulf, with expansive glass openings connecting the interiors to an outdoor balcony. A chef’s kitchen, family room, two offices and a wine cellar add a degree of functionality beneath the theatrical presentation. One of the offices could also be adapted as an additional sleeping area, according to the listing.

A private elevator and spiral staircase connect the floors, while the upper level contains four of the five bedrooms.

The Primary Suite Takes Center Stage

The primary suite is arguably the most impressive private space in the house.

At approximately 1,000 square feet, it is large enough to function almost as a self-contained retreat. Gulf views extend into both the bedroom and bathroom, while a sitting area, morning bar, private terrace and oversized walk-in closet reinforce the resort-like character of the suite.

The bathroom incorporates a spa-inspired configuration, while the closet is described in the marketing material as large enough to rival some guest bedrooms. The combination is particularly suited to a residence whose greatest asset is not simply its interior square footage, but the relationship between the house and the water.

Martha Thorn, the longtime local real estate professional handling the listing for Coldwell Banker Realty, has characterized the residence as “a legacy property,” pointing to its privacy and position directly on Clearwater Beach’s white-sand shoreline.

That description is significant because the property’s value extends beyond the celebrity association. A Gulf-front parcel with private residential scale, substantial outdoor living space and immediate beach access is a fundamentally scarce commodity on Clearwater Beach.

Nearly 1,500 Square Feet of Outdoor Living

The relationship with the Gulf becomes even more apparent outside.

The residence offers nearly 1,500 square feet of covered outdoor living space, creating room for lounging, dining and entertaining while remaining protected from Florida’s intense sun and frequent weather.

A heated pool and spa sit immediately above the beach, with fire features adding another layer to the outdoor setting. From the terrace, the Gulf becomes the principal visual backdrop rather than merely a distant view.

The listing describes the property as a Mediterranean masterpiece, while the marketing emphasizes its unobstructed water views and resort-style amenities. Current listing material also identifies a gas fireplace, designer kitchen, elevator, walk-in closets and high-end stone and wood finishes among the principal features.

For a buyer interested in waterfront entertaining, the house effectively functions as a private coastal resort: pool, spa, covered terraces, beach access and sunset views are concentrated on a relatively compact parcel.

Privacy at the North End of Clearwater Beach

The location is another part of the story.

The mansion sits toward the northern end of Clearwater Beach in the Mandalay area, close to the Carlouel Yacht Club and the gated Mandalay Point enclave. Unlike the more heavily trafficked areas around Pier 60 and the central Beach Walk, this part of the barrier island has a more residential character.

Thorn has previously spoken publicly about the appeal of privacy in this stretch of Clearwater Beach. Discussing Hogan’s neighboring cottage, she told Homes.com News, “What Hogan loved about that is that it offered privacy.”

That observation helps explain why Hogan maintained two adjacent properties rather than immediately combining them into one oversized residence. The cottage provided separation from the main house and an additional layer of privacy for guests.

Thorn has also described nearby Mandalay Point in an earlier luxury transaction as “an enclave of gorgeous views and privacy,” highlighting the characteristics that have helped make the northern end of Clearwater Beach one of the area’s more tightly held residential pockets.

For CaliforniaLuxuryHouses readers accustomed to luxury enclaves such as Malibu, Newport Coast or La Jolla, the appeal is familiar: the value is not simply in the house itself, but in controlling a scarce piece of waterfront where privacy and proximity coexist.

Clearwater Beach Beyond the Front Gate

Despite its relatively private setting, the property is not isolated from the amenities of Clearwater Beach.

Mandalay Avenue serves as one of the island’s principal commercial corridors, with restaurants, boutiques, beach-oriented retailers and everyday services. Pier 60, one of the best-known destinations on the island, is within the broader Clearwater Beach district and is known for its sunset celebrations, local vendors and entertainment.

Dining is another important part of the lifestyle. Clearwater Beach has developed a broad restaurant scene ranging from casual Gulf seafood to more polished waterfront dining. The wider St. Pete-Clearwater region has also gained recognition for its culinary scene, with Michelin-recognized restaurants adding to the area’s appeal for affluent visitors and residents.

The barrier island is connected to mainland Clearwater by the Clearwater Memorial Causeway, while the broader Tampa Bay region provides access to St. Petersburg and Tampa. Tampa International Airport is the principal major-airport gateway for the region, making the Gulf-front lifestyle practical for owners who divide their time among multiple residences.

Boating, fishing, water sports and access to nearby islands further strengthen the area’s appeal as a second-home destination. Clearwater Beach’s combination of resort amenities and established residential neighborhoods has helped it remain one of Florida’s most recognizable Gulf Coast communities.

A Dramatic Reset From the Original Asking Price

The biggest real estate story surrounding Hogan’s Clearwater Beach mansion may ultimately be the price.

The estate debuted at $10.98 million in January 2026. By late April, the asking price had fallen to $8.99 million. Another reduction in June brought it to approximately $7.9 million, followed by the latest $1 million cut to $6.9 million in September.

That represents a reduction of more than 37% from the original asking price.

At the same time, Hogan’s original $3.33 million acquisition in 2012 provides an interesting benchmark. Even at the current $6.9 million asking price, the property is being offered at more than double the amount Hogan paid, before accounting for ownership costs, improvements, taxes and the changing value of Gulf-front real estate over the intervening years.

The question for the next owner is therefore less about celebrity provenance and more about whether the market now sees the property’s combination of direct Gulf frontage, architectural character, privacy and outdoor amenities as compelling at $6.9 million.

A New Chapter for a Famous Clearwater Beach Address

For CaliforniaLuxuryHouses, the most interesting aspect of 1040 Eldorado Avenue is how dramatically its story has evolved.

It began as a personal retreat for one of wrestling’s biggest stars, became part of a two-property Clearwater Beach compound, and is now being repositioned for a new owner. The celebrity connection will inevitably remain part of the address’s identity, but the physical attributes of the estate—Gulf frontage, beach access, generous terraces, a heated pool and spa, five bedrooms and a nearly 1,000-square-foot primary suite—are what ultimately give the property enduring real estate value.

The team at CaliforniaLuxuryHouses reviewed publicly available listing and historical information surrounding the residence to distinguish the property itself from the broader story of Hogan’s estate. The current offering does not include the neighboring cottage, meaning the $6.9 million asking price applies specifically to the main mansion and its associated parcel.

For now, Hulk Hogan’s Clearwater Beach mansion remains one of the Gulf Coast’s more recognizable luxury listings—and, after nearly $4 million in price reductions, it is entering a very different chapter of its market life.
