Late Yankee Candle Founder Michael Kittredge II’s Legendary Juggler Meadow Estate Sells for $7.25 Million

A New Chapter Begins for One of New England’s Most Extraordinary Estates

One of Massachusetts’ most remarkable private compounds has officially changed hands. Juggler Meadow, the sprawling 60-acre estate created by late Yankee Candle founder Michael Kittredge II, has sold for $7.25 million, marking the end of an era for a property that evolved over decades into a one-of-a-kind luxury retreat.

According to public listing information reviewed by californialuxuryhouses, Kittredge began assembling the estate in 1984 after purchasing a modest home for $144,000. Over the following decades, he expanded the property into an eight-building compound spanning approximately 120,000 square feet.

A Private Resort Built for Family and Entertaining

The centerpiece of Juggler Meadow is a 25,000-square-foot main residence, completed through multiple expansions, with the final phase finished in 2010. The home features 16 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, soaring entertaining spaces, custom millwork, eleven fireplaces, a grand two-story great room, multiple kitchens, a theater, music room, billiards room, and an impressive commercial-grade kitchen designed to host large gatherings.

Resort-Style Amenities Unlike Any Other

What truly sets Juggler Meadow apart is its collection of world-class recreational amenities. The estate includes a spectacular 55,000-square-foot spa complex complete with an indoor water park, bowling alley, arcade, fitness center, massage rooms, sauna, steam rooms, and a private performance venue that has previously welcomed artists including Hall & Oates, The Doobie Brothers, KC and The Sunshine Band, and Eric Burdon & The Animals.

Additional highlights include two climate-controlled car barns capable of housing up to 60 vehicles, guest houses, a clubhouse, tennis courts, a pool cabana, and a private nine-hole golf course.

A Legacy Estate Finds New Owners

Following Michael Kittredge II’s passing in 2019, ownership transferred to his son, Michael Kittredge III. While the estate remained an extraordinary family property, its immense scale ultimately led to its sale.

The compound has now been acquired by golf industry executive David Reasoner and his wife, Kerry Reasoner, who reportedly intend to adapt portions of the property for commercial use while preserving its exceptional character.

An Iconic Property in Western Massachusetts

Located in the quiet town of Leverett, Juggler Meadow offers exceptional privacy while remaining within convenient reach of Amherst and the cultural attractions of Western Massachusetts. The surrounding region is known for its scenic countryside, outdoor recreation, prestigious educational institutions, and vibrant arts community, making it one of New England’s most desirable rural destinations.

With its unparalleled collection of amenities, remarkable history, and extraordinary scale, Juggler Meadow remains one of the most distinctive luxury estates ever created in the Northeast, and its recent sale marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
