Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia has acquired a luxury mansion in Coral Gables, Florida, paying approximately $9.06 million for a sprawling estate located inside one of the area’s most exclusive gated communities, according to public records reviewed by californialuxuryhouses.
The Venezuelan-born baseball star, nicknamed “Uncle Avi,” purchased the property alongside his wife, Anakarina Garcia, in late March, roughly two years after signing a four-year, $53 million contract with the Miami Marlins.

A Luxury Home in the Snapper Creek Lakes Community
The two-story residence sits on a 1.1-acre corner lot within Snapper Creek Lakes, a highly sought-after gated enclave known for privacy, mature landscaping, and estate-scale homes. The property was previously listed in July 2022 for $10.495 million by Bradley Cooper of The Corcoran Group, with the seller recorded as a trust.

Public records show the home last traded in 2021 for $7.35 million, highlighting a notable price increase amid continued demand for luxury real estate in Coral Gables.
“While I can’t comment on the parties involved, I can say the residence is truly spectacular,” Cooper told californialuxuryhouses. “It’s built with the finest materials and offers a level of privacy and craftsmanship that’s increasingly rare in Coral Gables.”

Contemporary Mediterranean Design With Resort-Style Amenities
Including terraces, outdoor living areas, and lower levels, the home spans approximately 11,476 square feet. Designed in a contemporary Mediterranean style, the residence emphasizes indoor-outdoor living through expansive French doors that open onto a columned terrace overlooking a resort-style pool and spa.
A series of second-floor balconies extend views across the landscaped grounds, while outdoor amenities include a built-in grill and lush gardens anchored by mature oak trees.
According to the listing, the home was constructed with hurricane-resistant windows and a poured-concrete roof, offering both luxury and resilience—key considerations for South Florida buyers.

Grand Interiors and Seven-Bedroom Layout
Inside, a dramatic central staircase defines the entry, leading to a mezzanine level that adds architectural depth and visual impact. The residence includes seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, with the primary suite positioned in a private wing for added seclusion.
Additional interior features include a formal dining room, a media room, a breakfast area, and a chef’s kitchen centered around a large island designed for gathering and entertaining.
“The layout creates a sense of openness while still allowing each space to feel distinct,” Cooper noted in comments shared with californialuxuryhouses.

Coral Gables: One of South Florida’s Most Prestigious Addresses
Often referred to as “The City Beautiful,” Coral Gables is one of Florida’s first planned communities, celebrated for its Mediterranean Revival architecture, tree-lined boulevards, and proximity to Miami’s business and cultural hubs.

Residents enjoy convenient access to upscale shopping, fine dining, private schools, and Miami International Airport, making Coral Gables a perennial favorite among professional athletes and high-net-worth buyers.
Garcia, who made his Major League Baseball debut in 2012, has previously played for the Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, Tampa Bay Rays, and Milwaukee Brewers. He and his wife, married since 2013, have two young children.

Californialuxuryhouses contacted the Miami Marlins’ communications office for comment from Garcia regarding the purchase but did not receive a response prior to publication.
