Sugar Ray Leonard has increased the value of his Los Angeles mansion

Last week, boxing icon Sugar Ray Leonard slashed $4 million off the asking price of his picturesque Los Angeles mansion, adorned with ivy and boasting a Tuscan-style architecture, bringing the new price tag just shy of $40 million. The luxurious eight-bedroom residence, situated in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, was initially put on the market in 2019 by Leonard and his wife, Bernadette Robi, with an asking price of $51.995 million. Since then, the price has undergone several reductions, according to listing records. Branden Williams of Beverly Hills Estates, along with his spouse and colleague Rayni, as well as Josh and Matt Altman of the Altman Brothers at Douglas Elliman, are the listing agents overseeing the sale. Williams remarked, “Now the house is offering tremendous value.”

“The rarity of finding a residence nestled on such prime real estate in an A-plus location, coupled with the notable celebrity history associated with this property, is unparalleled,” he remarked. The couple acquired this expansive property, originally dating back to the 1950s, in 1993. They embarked on a reconstruction project in the late 1990s alongside architect Richard Landry, renowned as the “king of the megamansion,” to recreate an ambiance reminiscent of Old World Italian architecture, featuring imported stone and bespoke timber elements. As previously reported by Mansion Global, with their children now grown and no longer residing at home, they are in pursuit of a smaller abode.

Spread across nearly 17,000 square feet, this Italianate mansion showcases beamed ceilings, stone columns, and majestic fireplaces. Noteworthy features include a chef’s kitchen equipped with top-of-the-line appliances, two islands, and an expansive pantry; a solarium, a two-story family room with a gallery, and an intimate living room. Additionally, amenities such as a screening room, a playroom, a game room, and a wine cellar are highlighted in the listing.
