During his tenure with the Boston Red Sox, outfielder Johnny Damon gained renown for his shoulder-length hair and unkempt beard. It’s therefore not unexpected that the Florida residence he personally constructed for his family includes a hair salon. Johnny Damon, now retired at 50, and his wife, Michelle Damon, 48, erected the nine-bedroom lakeside mansion in the Orlando suburbs back in 2010. Presently, they are placing it on the market for $30 million.

Situated within a gated community in Windermere, approximately 10 miles west of downtown Orlando, the sprawling 30,000-square-foot abode boasts approximately 4.8 acres of land with around 540 feet of waterfront, along with a dock on Lake Butler, as noted by listing agent Alice Anne Jackson of Corcoran Premier Realty.

The Damons, who tied the knot in 2004, purchased the land for $4 million in 2007, according to Johnny, who hails from the Orlando area. Among the lavish amenities of their home are a two-lane bowling alley, sports bar, cigar lounge, and arcade. Michelle remarked, “He was playing baseball, so when you’re done at the end of the season, you do not want to leave your house.” Johnny added, “On the property, you never run out of things to do.”

To maintain his fitness during the offseason, the residence features two gyms, one of which is adjacent to the primary suite, along with a sauna and steam room. Additionally, there are numerous outdoor sports courts for tennis, basketball, and volleyball.

The estate boasts a saltwater pool complete with a swim-up Hibachi grill and bar, as well as a grotto and slide, as noted by Jackson. Furthermore, there’s a zip line and a vegetable garden where the Damons cultivate nearly all of their produce, according to Michelle.

Michelle often extends invitations to friends to indulge in the hair salon, which both Johnny and their son Dash utilize. Johnny famously sheared his iconic hair short in 2005 upon joining the New York Yankees but has since allowed it to grow out to rival Dash’s lengthy locks.

According to Jackson, the primary suite of the residence features a coffee station, both indoor and outdoor showers, and a two-story closet. To accommodate the Damons’ six children, aged 7 to 16, the house includes a playroom, a separate dining area for kids, and an outdoor playhouse. Johnny mentioned that their family is both musical and athletic, hence the presence of two karaoke areas and a music loft for storing drums and collectible guitars. With two kitchens, Michelle hosts annual “Naughty Cookie” parties for her girlfriends, where they bake cookies in suggestive shapes.

Furthermore, the house comprises three guest apartments, one of which is currently occupied by Johnny’s mother, he noted.
