A steel-framed mansion resembling a bird cage perches atop a hill overlooking Park City, Utah, and recently entered the market with a $17 million listing price.

The spacious kitchen.

Situated on over 9 acres—a notably large lot for this sought-after ski town—the exterior is crafted from sandstone sourced directly from the site. Additionally, a portion of the home features a “green roof,” adorned with native plants that harmonize with the surrounding mountainous landscape.

The large floor-to-ceiling windows are made of SageGlass, which adjusts the tint.

According to Jake Doilney from the Agency, who is co-listing with Ben Kubicki and Sarah Vieyra, the vision behind the home was to create an environmentally conscious masterpiece using materials sourced locally in the United States.

The seller constructed the home in 2015 after acquiring the property through a trust in 2005, the purchase price of which remains undisclosed due to Utah’s non-disclosure regulations.

A pneumatic elevator and a spiral staircase.

The steel structure features expansive windows that flood the home with natural light and offer 270-degree views of the Wasatch Back and Uinta Mountains.

“This vantage point in Park City is truly unique,” commented Doilney. “You’re situated on a ridge line, allowing simultaneous views of both sides.”

The main level’s large floor-to-ceiling windows are equipped with SageGlass, an electrochromic glass that adjusts tint for optimal energy efficiency.

Spanning approximately 10,700 square feet, the home boasts five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Amenities include a game/exercise room, a family/movie room, and a spacious garage with a pneumatic elevator, as detailed in the listing.

There are seven bathrooms.

Outside, the green roof features an infinity-edge hot tub, a fire pit, and a stone path winding through the garden.

Perched at approximately 7,100 feet, there are no neighboring homes in sight, noted Doilney.

There’s also a fire pit on the green roof.

“Typically in town, you have neighbors surrounding you—behind, beside, and across the street,” he remarked. “Here, you won’t even catch a glimpse of a rooftop from your windows.”

The green roof features a garden with native plants.

Despite its secluded feel, the property offers convenient access to all of Park City’s amenities. Both Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain are just a short drive for skiing enthusiasts, while Main Street, visible from the home, is a mere four miles away.
