As first reported by The Wall Street Journal, the coastal 1.3-acre property, long owned by award-winning singer, pianist, and actor Harry Connick Jr., has just hit the market in the Lower Cape Cod enclave of Chatham for $12.5 million. The listing is managed by Paul Grover and Matthew de Groot of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Robert Paul Properties.

Harry Connick Jr., the renowned singer and actor, is listing his longtime Cape Cod vacation home for $12.5 million. This waterfront property, featuring a music room, is located in Chatham, Massachusetts. Connick and his wife, former model Jill Goodacre Connick, purchased the home for $5.3 million in 2006, according to property records. The couple, who primarily raised their three daughters in Connecticut, cherished their time in Chatham. “Our children could come and go as they pleased,” said Connick, a New Orleans native. “We could walk to town, to the grocery store and pharmacy, to Chatham A’s baseball games and the Fourth of July parade.”

Records indicate that the New Orleans-born crooner and his wife, former Victoria’s Secret model Jill Goodacre, purchased the Oyster Pond Lane property for $5.3 million in early 2006. Nestled behind tall hedges and a long tree-lined driveway, the charming wood-shingled structure offers five bedrooms and six bathrooms within over 5,300 square feet of two-level living space, featuring original pine floors, reclaimed wood, and multiple fireplaces.

Originally built in the 1960s, the blufftop home has been extensively renovated during the couple’s ownership. It overlooks Chatham Village and Oyster Pond, a saltwater basin that connects to Nantucket Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. The property includes a staircase and a raised walkway leading to a boathouse and a private dock, along with an attached two-car garage.

Other highlights include an entrance hallway with a traditional staircase, a cozy family room with built-in bookcases flanking a wood-burning fireplace, and a gourmet kitchen equipped with a built-in buffet, an eat-in island, top-tier stainless appliances, and a dining area with two sets of French doors opening to the backyard. The upstairs primary suite, accessed via a private staircase, features a water-view balcony, a walk-in closet, and a luxurious bathroom with dual vanities, a soaking tub, and a glass-encased shower, plus a study where Connick composed music. The park-like grounds boast manicured gardens, mature trees, a fire pit, and a freeform swimming pool surrounded by a brick terrace.

According to WSJ, Connick and Goodacre are selling the fully furnished house because they are spending less time on the Cape now that their children are grown.
