Billionaire Marc Andreessen has recently listed his Silicon Valley estate for $33 million

Marc Andreessen currently owns properties valued at over $255 million in Malibu, including a compound in Paradise Cove consisting of 13 structures, an adjacent property worth $34 million, and another home valued at $44.5 million on Escondido Beach nearby. Given his substantial time spent in the coastal city of Southern California, it’s not entirely surprising that the tech/crypto/venture-capitalist billionaire has opted to put his long-held residence in Northern California up for sale.

The listed price slightly exceeds $33 million, approximately double what Marc Andreessen and his wife Laura Arillaga, the daughter of the late Silicon Valley philanthropist and multibillionaire John Arrillaga, paid for the property over 17 years ago in early 2007.

Originally constructed in the mid-1990s by custom builder Colin Whiteside, the gated 1.5-acre estate in the affluent Silicon Valley community of Atherton features a main Tuscan-style mansion, along with a guesthouse and a separate office/studio, totaling five bedrooms and seven bathrooms in a little over 12,400 square feet.

At the forefront of the main residence lies a circular driveway, setting the stage for an impressive sight: an extensive terrace adorned with intricately carved balustrades and crowned by balconies. Upon entering, guests are welcomed by a foyer adorned with herringbone-style cherry floors and a grand staircase, leading to a three-story living space that features an elevator servicing all levels, seven fireplaces, and state-of-the-art home automation, security, and surveillance systems.

Among the many highlights is a living area boasting soundproof suede walls, automated window shades, a concealed projector, and a retractable cinema screen. Additionally, there’s a formal dining room serviced by two kitchens equipped with top-of-the-line Bosch, Hestan, Kitchen-Aid, Miele, Sub-Zero, and Wolf appliances. A family room opens onto a covered terrace complete with a built-in barbecue. The remarkable features continue with a den that includes an adjoining office, a recreation/media room, a mirrored gym, and an upstairs lounge leading to an opulent primary bedroom featuring a private balcony, dual walk-in closets, and a luxurious marble-clad bath complete with a spa tub and curbless shower.

Outside, the meticulously maintained grounds feature a blend of natural and synthetic grass lawns, adorned with specimen trees, gardens, fountains, and an arbor-covered media lounge. Additionally, the property includes a one-bedroom, one-bath guesthouse complete with its own kitchen and living area, as well as an office/studio equipped with a kitchenette and full bath. Furthermore, there’s a three-car garage with a fourth bay converted into an office and catering space.

In addition to his properties in Malibu and Atherton, Marc Andreessen, whose net worth is currently estimated at $1.9 billion, is also said to own a $36 million vacant lot just outside Las Vegas.
