The suburban Atlanta home of Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Kenny Rogers has been sold for $2.475 million. Rogers, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 81, purchased the six-bedroom residence for $1.705 million in 2019 to be closer to his medical team, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. The nearly 6,000-square-foot home, located in Sandy Springs—about 18 miles north of downtown Atlanta—was sold earlier this week by his estate.
Thom McCorkle of Ansley Real Estate—Christie’s International/Luxury Portfolio managed the listing, but he has not yet responded to requests for comment. The details of the transaction are not publicly available, so Mansion Global could not identify the buyer.
Wanda Rogers-Webb, his widow, shared with the Journal that “his greatest passion besides music and family might have been interior and landscape design.” She noted, “Kenny loved taking a piece of land or a beautiful home and putting his own fingerprints on it everywhere.”
The couple made several enhancements to the property, including installing an elevator, adding a fountain surrounded by boxwood hedges, and commissioning mosaics in the kitchen. Built in 2003, the home features a two-story foyer with marble flooring and a dramatic staircase, a formal dining room, a formal living room with an ornate fireplace, a family room, a deck, and six bedrooms, including a primary suite with marble floors and a granite fireplace.
Additionally, there’s an entertaining area equipped for poker and game tables, a kitchen and bar area, a media room, a wine cellar, and a backyard with a pool and hot tub.
Rogers, celebrated for hits like “The Gambler,” “Islands in the Stream,” and “Coward of the County,” was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
