Nearly three years after Kate Beckinsale sold her long-time Los Angeles residence for approximately $400,000 more than the $3.6 million she paid in 2006, the estate has reappeared on the market with a new asking price of $4.3 million. The listing is managed by Brandon Assanti of The Agency.
Beckinsale, who owned the four-bedroom, five-bath home in Brentwood for 15 years, sold it to a non-celebrity couple for just under $4 million in fall 2021. Since then, the property has undergone minimal changes, with only some cosmetic updates. The house, located on a ridge above Mandeville Canyon and shielded from the street by dense trees and an attached two-car garage, features a Cape Cod-style exterior with white wood siding and stone accents. Inside, the more than 3,600 square feet of living space is illuminated by banks of glass French doors, and the home boasts a blend of maple and tile flooring, high ceilings, and ample recessed lighting.
A large portico over the front porch leads into the open-plan interiors, where highlights include a living room with a stone fireplace, an adjoining dining room with white wainscoting and taupe walls, and an office/library with built-in bookshelves and extra storage. The spacious fireside family room connects to a gourmet kitchen with Carrara marble and walnut countertops, dual islands, and stainless steel appliances.
The upstairs primary suite mirrors the traditional decor of the rest of the home and features a double-sided fireplace and a sky-lit bath. Its standout feature is a bridge leading over the grassy yard to a secluded hot tub nestled in the hillside. Additionally, there are three other bedrooms, one with a small loft space accessible by ladder. The backyard, though modest and lacking a swimming pool, offers privacy, lush gardens, a large stone patio with a fireplace, and an outdoor shower.
Born in London to actors Judy Loe and the late Richard Beckinsale, Kate Beckinsale followed in her parents’ footsteps. After minor TV roles, she gained prominence with Kenneth Branagh’s 1993 film adaptation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing while studying French and Russian literature at Oxford University. She has since starred in numerous films, including Pearl Harbor and Laurel Canyon, and gained fame as the action heroine Selene in the Underworld series starting in 2003.
