The 1970s were characterized by disco music, funky colorful looks, and a penchant for extravagant architecture, including a notable house in Montreal nicknamed the “Roller Coaster House”.
Easily recognizable among thousands, this villa, constructed in 1976, is situated in the heart of the residential district of Hampstead in Montreal, where luxurious houses abound. As its nickname implies, what distinguishes it from the others is primarily its architecture, characterized by original curves seemingly directly inspired by roller coasters.
Inside, the multiple levels, high ceilings, rounded walls, and enormous bay windows give the house a completely unique atmosphere that transports us back several decades.
In addition to the kitchen, classic living room, and dining room on the main floor, among the 14 rooms in the villa, there are no less than six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a shower room, a sports hall, and two garages.
However, undoubtedly the most incredible “room” is the one housing the in-ground, heated indoor pool. Resembling a vast veranda, it is notably adorned with a unique rounded bar and a hanging chandelier, offering a view of the garden.
