Stevin John’s first YouTube appearance was an early 2014 video of Blippi, a fun yet educational children’s show he created to entertain his young nephew. But the brand-building entrepreneur has certainly come a long way since then. Thanks to a loyal following of children and adults alike (he has over 35 billion YouTube views to date), the Blippi program is now available on all the major streaming platforms and has related merchandise, a touring musical, and spinoff series like Blippi’s Treehouse. The creator and original host even managed to sell his brand in a lucrative $120 million licensing deal about four years ago.
John’s burgeoning success has also enabled him to purchase a $2.8 million home in Los Angeles that just went up for sale, with an asking price of just under $3.6 million. Though that list price is around $800,000 more than what John paid for the modern farmhouse-style property back in spring 2020, the 36-year-old Washington State native has spent much of the past four years fully customizing the place from top to bottom. The listing is held by Michael Bergin of Compass.
The property is set in the prime Toluca Lake area, a celeb-studded enclave occupied by the likes of Macaulay Culkin, Melissa McCarthy, and Steve Carell. Tucked away behind walls and gates and protected by a security system, the two-tone and metal-roof structure was built in 2019 and features five en-suite bedrooms and seven baths in nearly 3,800 square feet of open-plan living space with white oak hardwood floors, high wood-beam ceilings, shiplap details, sliding glass doors, and Control4 technology throughout.
The two-story dwelling is fronted by a porch and offers an attached two-car garage. Highlights inside include a foyer that flows to a window-lined living and dining area warmed by a decorative fireplace, a wine fridge-equipped bar area, a gourmet kitchen with top-tier appliances, and a spacious primary suite with a fireplace, an expansive balcony, and a luxe bath. Outdoors, the private grounds host a pool and spa flanked by an open-air cabana.
In August 2021, John became engaged to his longtime girlfriend Alyssa Ingham. The couple, who share a son, reportedly maintain a primary residence in the Pacific Northwest.
