Skincare entrepreneurs, a married couple, have purchased a lavish spec mansion in Los Angeles for $25 million

An extravagant spec mansion designed by Tobe Morrow recently changed hands in the upscale Brentwood Park area of Los Angeles. The seller was local developer Gil Charash of AMG Capital, who purchased the existing property for $8 million in summer 2022. Before Charash had a chance to officially list the newly built mansion, it was sold in an off-market deal that reportedly set a record for price-per-square-foot in the area.

Property records indicate that the eager buyers are Dr. Katie Rodan and her husband Amnon Rodan. Dr. Rodan, a dermatologist, co-founded the anti-aging skincare brand Rodan + Fields, known for the acne-management brand Proactiv, while Amnon is the former chairman of the company. The Rodans paid just over $25 million for the six-bedroom, nine-bath home in early February.

Completed this year, the contemporary estate spans over half an acre and is secured by gates. It includes an attached three-car garage and offers roughly 8,000 square feet of two-level living space. The interior features hardwood floors, high ceilings, designer light fixtures, and large glass expanses for seamless indoor/outdoor living.

Glassy arched double doors open into a wood-paneled foyer, leading to a fireside living room that extends to a covered terrace. The home also includes a formal dining room with wine storage and a sleek gourmet kitchen with an oversized eat-in island, top-tier appliances, and a breakfast room.

The master retreat boasts a fireside sitting area, a private balcony, a walk-in closet, and a marble-clad bath with a soaking tub and shower in an enclosed wet room. The landscaped grounds feature a Pickleball court, a swimming pool and spa, and numerous areas for outdoor lounging and entertaining. A detached guesthouse is also on the property.

In addition to their new Brentwood Park home, the Rodans own at least two properties in L.A.’s Pacific Palisades area, including one that is for sale at $8.5 million with plans for a new Marmol Radziner-designed structure. They also have homes in Aspen and San Francisco. Last year, they sold a 6,750-square-foot residence in Piedmont, California, for $7.2 million. Additionally, they are rumored to have recently bought a Pacific Palisades mansion from actor Ben Affleck for $28.5 million, which is currently undergoing extensive renovations.
