Seann William Scott, famous for his role as Steven Stifler in the 1999 film American Pie, is bidding farewell to his California residence. His Venice compound, recently listed for just under $5 million, comprises a historic 1,300-square-foot bungalow and a modern glass-and-steel house behind it. Together, these structures offer five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a total of 4,600 square feet of living space.
According to Bloomberg, Scott purchased the 5,148-square-foot lot in 2017 for $2.2 million after relocating from New York, intending to renovate and sell for a profit. The extensive six-year renovation process was a collaboration with his wife and interior designer, Olivia Scott. Scott described himself as unexpectedly passionate about architectural design, despite his public persona.
The bungalow underwent a thorough renovation, stripping it down to its framework, while the newer structure was more minimalistic from the start. The overall aesthetic blends chic modernity with natural materials, featuring earthy tile floors in the bungalow and an airy, open kitchen with Caesarstone countertops and warm wood accents. The bungalow also includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a dining area leading to a covered deck.
In contrast, the glass-and-concrete loft spans three levels with three bedrooms and four bathrooms. Designed by architect Kevin Mulcahy, it boasts accordion glass doors, a double-height entertainment area, and a second kitchen with floating marble shelves and original steel beams.
Reflecting on his creation, Scott expressed pride in the transformation but admitted to hesitations about parting with the home, given his fondness for Venice and the property’s unique appeal. As he prepares to take on a role in the upcoming film Bad Man, where he plays a disgraced cop, Scott contemplates whether selling his beloved home is the right decision.
