In 2011, Olivia Wilde purchased a Spanish Colonial Revival-style villa for nearly $2.3 million. This property, located in Los Feliz, had previously been home to puppeteer and producer Brian Henson and was reportedly rented by Natalie Portman and Joe Jonas. After Wilde, who had since paired up with Jason Sudeikis, sold the villa at a loss to a music industry executive, it was briefly owned by a footwear mogul before being bought by Pharmavite CEO Jeff Boutelle and his wife Catherine for just over $3 million.
Now, 13 years later, the villa has resurfaced on the market with a $4.8 million asking price. Originally designed by Ashton & Denney in the late 1920s and remodeled since, the home features a creamy stucco facade and a red terracotta roof, nestled behind walls and gates on a hillside lot of just under a quarter-acre. Inside, the 3,284-square-foot residence includes four bedrooms and four bathrooms, with a mix of tile and hardwood floors, vaulted wood-beam ceilings, stained-glass and leaded windows, decorative mosaic tile, and custom ironwork.
The property boasts a secluded courtyard with a built-in barbecue and fire pit, leading to a foyer with a striking staircase. The living room features a fireplace and Juliette balcony. The updated kitchen includes open shelving, a subway tile backsplash, an eat-in island, top-tier appliances, and a breakfast nook with banquette seating. A wood-paneled study with built-in bookshelves and a monogrammed fireplace complements the home, along with a screening room with the original bar and a primary suite with a private balcony, walk-in closet, and spa-like bath.
The garden grounds offer meandering pathways, a waterfall spa, and outdoor lounging and entertaining spaces with views of downtown L.A. An attached two-car garage is also included. The property is listed by Patricia Ruben and Alan Melkonyan of Sotheby’s International Realty-Los Feliz Brokerage.
Wilde has since moved on, recently purchasing a Barbara Bestor-designed compound in Studio City for nearly $6 million. After her split from Sudeikis in 2020, their jointly owned Brooklyn townhouse went to Sudeikis, and a renovated hacienda in Silver Lake was sold for $4.2 million to an entertainment attorney and his wife.
