Mookie Betts, an All-Star with the Dodgers, has put his Los Angeles home back on the market at a reduced price

Los Angeles Dodgers’ star outfielder Mookie Betts is aiming to score big with the sale of his luxurious Encino home by adjusting its price. The 9,415-square-foot property initially debuted in February at just under $10 million, coinciding with the start of baseball season, and was withdrawn from the market in May, according to listing records.

The baseball player bought the 9,415-square-foot home in 2020.

“Now that the season has concluded, and perhaps a tad prematurely for Dodgers enthusiasts, the home is back on the market,” stated Morgan Trent of AKG, Christie’s International Real Estate, who recently relaunched the listing with an $8.495 million price tag. Despite the commencement of the World Series this Friday, the Dodgers won’t be participating, having surprisingly exited the playoffs early in the postseason.

The property boasts a grand double-height foyer featuring a sweeping staircase, embodying what Trent described as “all the bells and whistles.” Among its amenities are a chef’s kitchen complete with a walk-in pantry, a formal dining room, a spacious living room adorned with a fireplace and a coffered ceiling, a home theater, and dual laundry facilities—one on each floor.

However, according to Trent, “the most striking feature is undoubtedly the impressive structure at the rear—a fully equipped indoor gym featuring a half-court basketball court.” This air-conditioned area, equipped with roll-up doors, offers ample room for weight racks, exercise machines, and showcases Betts’s initials, “MB,” on the blue-painted court.

Outside, the property boasts a zero-edge pool and spa with a sunken fire pit, a putting green, a cabana, and an outdoor kitchen, as detailed in the listing.

Betts, aged 31, acquired the property in October 2020 for $7.6 million through an LLC, as indicated by records from PropertyShark. The purchase was from Chip Kelly, the former coach of UCLA’s football team.

The six-time All-Star commenced his career with the Boston Red Sox, where he played for six seasons before being traded to the Dodgers in 2020.

During his tenure with the Red Sox in 2018, Betts made history as the first player in MLB history to secure the Most Valuable Player, Silver Slugger, Gold Glove, batting title, and World Series championship all within the same season.
