As first reported by the Orange County Register, the former Anaheim Angels outfielder is listing his modern Newport Beach farmhouse for just under $6.8 million, with Annie Clougherty of Compass handling the sale.

Upton and his wife, Ashley, acquired the property for $4.7 million in the spring of 2020. The home, originally designed by architect Randall Coombs and later updated by Scottsdale-based DeCesare Design Group, was completed in 2019. The sleek, white wood-sided farmhouse offers nearly 6,000 square feet of living space, featuring five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, along with reclaimed oak hardwood floors, Lutron lighting, and brass fixtures. A standout feature is the floating staircase with solid oak treads.

Situated on less than a quarter-acre in the coveted Dover Shores neighborhood near the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve, the three-story home welcomes visitors with a sunken living room and a fireplace. Sliding barn doors open to a cozy den, while the family room and dining area seamlessly connect to a gourmet kitchen equipped with lava stone countertops, a butcher block-topped eat-in island, and Thermador appliances.

The upstairs master retreat includes a fireplace, sitting area, private balcony, walk-in closet, and a spa-like bath with dual vanities, a soaking tub, and a separate shower. The lower level features a custom glass-enclosed wine cellar and a surround-sound screening room with a full wet bar, complete with a beer froster, ice maker, refrigerator, and popcorn machine.

The outdoor space boasts a turf-covered backyard with an expansive terrace perfect for al fresco dining, including a built-in barbecue and fire-pit, with ample room to add a pool if desired. Additional amenities include an attached three-car garage and a motor court.

At 36, Upton became a free agent in 2022. His professional baseball career began in 2007 with the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he was the first pick of the 2005 draft straight out of high school. He has since played for the Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels, and Seattle Mariners, earning four All-Star selections and three Silver Slugger Awards.
