Despite already owning a home in Los Angeles, Martin Short has expanded his real estate holdings with the purchase of another property. Public records reveal that the esteemed actor, comedian, and writer, renowned for his roles on SCTV, Saturday Night Live, and most recently, Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, has acquired a recently renovated residence in the Upper Mandeville Canyon neighborhood of Brentwood for $2.2 million. Originally listed at around $2.4 million in March, Short managed to secure a slight discount on the property.

Constructed in the early 1960s and recently updated with contemporary touches, the pristine white dwelling sits on nearly three-quarters of an acre of lush land. Accessed via a bridge and shared driveway leading to an attached two-car garage, the home features four bedrooms and three bathrooms within its 1,800 square feet of split-level living space. Characterized by hardwood floors and wood-beam ceilings, the interior is adorned with sliding glass doors that open onto multiple outdoor lounging and entertaining areas.

While there aren’t many photos available, online listings reveal a living room featuring a corner fireplace with a marble surround, as well as a generously sized dining room or workspace connected to a kitchen equipped with modern stainless steel appliances. A hallway guides to the bedrooms, including a primary suite with a private balcony and a luxurious spa-style bathroom.

Additionally, there’s a freeform swimming pool and spa complemented by a grassy sundeck. Furthermore, a separate studio apartment, complete with its own kitchenette and bathroom, adds to the property’s allure.

Originally from Canada, the 74-year-old actor rose to prominence through his sketch comedy work, notably portraying characters like Jiminy Glick and Ed Grimley. Martin Short has since built a prolific career in both film and television, with notable roles in productions such as Three Amigos!, Innerspace, Father of the Bride, and The Morning Show. Furthermore, he has showcased his talents on Broadway, starring in acclaimed productions like The Goodbye Girl and Little Me, the latter of which earned him a Tony Award for “Best Actor in a Musical.” Alongside his recent real estate acquisition, Short has maintained a primary residence in Pacific Palisades, which he purchased for $1.3 million back in 1987.
