The asking price stands at a remarkable $20 million—roughly $12 million more than what the 11-time champion paid for the beachfront property seven years ago, back in the spring of 2017. Acquired primarily for personal reasons—Slater fondly reminisces about spending time with his teenage surfing buddies at a nearby house in the 1980s—the property has been intermittently available for rent, at one point fetching as much as $80,000 per month.
The pool area.
Situated within a gated parcel spanning just over half an acre, along one of the most coveted streets in the Haleiwa area, the estate was constructed in the early 2000s and comprises a main residence and two guesthouses, offering a total of six bedrooms and eight bathrooms sprawled across a little over 7,600 square feet of living space infused with Asian and Hawaiian aesthetics, all with access to 101 feet of private shoreline. Though interior photographs are scarce, previous listings depict the main dwelling highlighted by a soaring living room with an open-trussed ceiling, a gracefully curved hardwood staircase tucked to the side, and glass doors leading out to a covered lanai. Other notable features include a formal dining room, media room, and kitchen equipped with natural wood cabinetry and a spacious island. The primary suite, situated upstairs, boasts an ocean-view balcony, a cozy seating nook, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom complete with dual vanities and a soaking tub.
The guesthouse.
Outside, the lush grounds feature a boardwalk spanning a pond, an infinity pool and hot tub surrounded by a grassy lawn, and ancillary accommodations comprising a three-bedroom guesthouse with its own kitchen and living area, as well as a one-bedroom apartment situated above the detached three-car garage. The sale reportedly includes plenty of Polynesian artwork left behind by a previous owner.

The 52-year-old Florida native, who hinted to WSJ that he may be nearing the end of his tenure as a professional surfer, also oversees a variety of business ventures ranging from a private surfing ranch to a sustainable footwear brand, with plans in the pipeline for a skincare and sunscreen line. Alongside the listed property, Slater and his long-time partner Kalani Miller maintain a primary residence—a “small beach shack”—on Hawaii’s Banzai Pipeline reef break, in addition to homes in Florida, California, and Australia.
The compound has access to 101 feet of private shoreline.
