Ever dreamt of living like a surfing icon, particularly a professional wave conqueror with numerous awards to his name? Well, now you can seize the opportunity as Kelly Slater’s idyllic Hawaiian estate, which he has cherished for several years, has just hit the market on Oahu’s north shore. Initially reported by The Wall Street Journal, the asking price stands at an impressive $20 million—a significant increase from the $11.8 million he paid for the oceanfront property seven years ago in spring 2017.
The main house.
Primarily purchased for personal reasons, as Slater holds fond memories of surfing and crashing at a nearby house with his teenage buddies in the 1980s, he has intermittently listed the property for rent, with rates soaring as high as $80,000 per month.
The guesthouse.
Nestled within a gated compound sprawling over half an acre, situated on one of Haleiwa’s most coveted streets, the estate was constructed in the early 2000s. It comprises a main residence and two guesthouses, boasting a total of six bedrooms and eight bathrooms spread across a little over 7,600 square feet of living space infused with Asian and Hawaiian influences. All this comes with access to 101 feet of secluded shoreline.
An ocean-view balcony.
While interior photographs are limited, previous listings reveal that the main residence boasts a grand living room adorned with an open-trussed ceiling, complemented by a curved hardwood staircase tucked to the side, and glass doors leading out to a covered lanai. Notable features also include a formal dining area, a media room, and a kitchen equipped with natural wood cabinetry and a spacious island. Among the two bedrooms, the upstairs primary suite stands out with an ocean-view balcony, a cozy seating nook, a walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom featuring dual vanities and a soaking tub.
The pool area.
Outside, the landscaped grounds feature a boardwalk crossing a pond, alongside an infinity pool and a hot tub encircled by a lush lawn. Adding to the allure are additional living spaces, including a three-bedroom guesthouse complete with its own kitchen and living area, as well as a one-bedroom apartment situated above the detached three-car garage. Included in the sale are reportedly various pieces of Polynesian artwork left behind by a previous owner.

Kelly Slater, the 52-year-old Florida native, hinted to WSJ that he may be concluding his final year as a professional surfer. Apart from his real estate ventures, Slater is involved in diverse business endeavors, ranging from a private surfing ranch to a sustainable footwear brand, and soon, a skincare and sunblock line. Alongside the listed property, Slater and his partner Kalani Miller maintain a primary residence, described as a “small beach shack,” on Hawaii’s Banzai Pipeline reef break, along with homes in Florida, California, and Australia.
The compound has access to 101 feet of private shoreline.
The listing is managed by Paul Stukin of Deep Blue HI, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate | Southern California.
