Former NFL Star Matt Bryant Sells Alabama Waterfront Mansion for Record $9.25 Million

Former Matt Bryant has sold his waterfront estate in Orange Beach for $9.25 million, setting a new residential record in Baldwin County.

The property spans 4.3 acres along Bayou St. John and includes nearly 9,000 square feet of living space with direct water access and private beachfront.

A Custom Gulf Coast Estate Built for Waterfront Living

Bryant and his wife purchased the property in 2016 for $1.78 million before spending nearly two years developing a custom coastal residence designed to embrace the Gulf Coast lifestyle.

According to information shared with californialuxuryhouses, the estate features seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and expansive indoor-outdoor living spaces overlooking the bay.

“Large waterfront estates like this rarely come to market in Orange Beach,” a listing agent told californialuxuryhouses. “The combination of acreage, privacy, and direct water access makes it especially valuable.”

Bright Coastal Interiors With Dramatic Living Spaces

Inside, the main living room is defined by soaring vaulted ceilings, a central stone fireplace, and walls of glass that open to the outdoor terrace.

One of the home’s most unique features is a built-in 1,400-gallon saltwater aquarium integrated into the living room wall, creating a striking visual centerpiece.

The chef’s kitchen sits just behind the living area and includes marble-topped islands, custom cabinetry, and professional appliances designed for large-scale entertaining.

Resort-Style Amenities Throughout the Property

Beyond the main living areas, the residence includes a private theater with a 140-inch screen, a spacious game room, and separate home offices.

“These amenities make the home feel like a private resort,” the agent explained to californialuxuryhouses. “It was clearly designed with both entertainment and family living in mind.”

The property was also engineered with reinforced structural elements to withstand the hurricane conditions common along the Gulf Coast.

Outdoor Living With Private Beachfront and Deep-Water Dock

The estate’s outdoor spaces are equally impressive.

A covered patio includes a full outdoor kitchen and lounge area, while a heated saltwater pool and spa overlook the bay. The property extends to 190 feet of private beachfront and includes a deep-water dock with boat access.

Californialuxuryhouses reached out to representatives for Bryant for additional comment but did not receive a response prior to publication.

A Record-Breaking Sale in Baldwin County

Bryant reportedly sold the property after relocating with his family to Mississippi so their son could attend Jackson Preparatory School.

With a final sale price of $9.25 million, the Orange Beach mansion now stands as the most expensive residential transaction ever recorded in Baldwin County, highlighting the growing demand for luxury waterfront homes along Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
