Fashion designer Jerry Lorenzo transformed a 1930s home in Los Angeles into an ultra-modern oasis

Fashion mogul Jerry Lorenzo, known for his luxury streetwear brands Fear of God and Essentials, which have garnered fans like Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, has made his mark on a stunning 1930s Mediterranean estate. After purchasing the turnkey property for $8.495 million in 2018, Lorenzo collaborated with interior designers Kathleen and Tommy Clements for a complete renovation that embodies timeless elegance.

The renovation included the installation of Steelworks windows and doors and the restoration of key architectural details, such as the intricate plasterwork ceiling in the dining room. “The house is situated on one of the prime streets in Los Feliz,” noted Tyrone McKillen of Plus Real Estate Group, who listed the property in July. “A turnkey Clements Design home at around $2,000 per square foot is a fantastic deal.”

The estate has a main house and a guest house.

Originally built for one of the founders of the Ralphs grocery chain, the estate features a main residence and a guest house. At 46, Lorenzo enjoys creative projects and is currently renovating another home in Los Angeles.

The new steel windows and doors create better flow with the outdoors.

The estate spans 7,200 square feet, offering five bedrooms and nine bathrooms. The main living area boasts a fireplace, while the gourmet kitchen is equipped with high-end appliances and marble countertops. The office opens to a private terrace, and the primary suite features a walk-in closet and a luxurious spa-like bath. The lushly landscaped in-ground pool is bordered by a tall privacy hedge, and the grounds include a sports court, outdoor lounge, dining area, and a garden with Japanese maple trees and water features.

The house has interior architectural elements, including arches.

Los Feliz, where the estate is located, is a creative haven adjacent to Griffith Park and its famous observatory. “There are many young Hollywood families in the area,” McKillen added. “You can reach ten world-class restaurants in just five minutes, and with little traffic, Downtown Los Angeles is only ten minutes away.” The neighborhood also features the historic Vista Theatre, a 1923 movie palace, and two Frank Lloyd Wright-designed homes.

The compound has outdoor entertaining spaces.
