Retired Boston Red Sox slugger David “Big Papi” Ortiz has successfully offloaded his Pinecrest, Fla. estate for a staggering $10.55 million. This five-bedroom, approximately 10,200-square-foot property was initially listed for $12.5 million in February. The transaction not only marks a record-setting sale for the suburb but also signifies a relocation from Boston to Florida for the buyer, as disclosed by listing agent Michael Martinez from ONE Sotheby’s International Realty. While the purchaser is reportedly a baseball enthusiast, it remains uncertain whether Ortiz’s former ownership influenced their decision to acquire the residence. Buyer’s representative Dennis Carvajal, also from ONE Sotheby’s, opted not to provide commentary on the matter.

The property, constructed in 2019 by Ortiz and his ex-wife Tiffany Ortiz, was built on a lot purchased for $1.5 million in 2016, coinciding with his retirement from professional baseball. The couple, who possessed several residences including one in the Boston region, have recently finalized their divorce, as indicated by court documents.
