Brad Pitt Buys $12 Million Hollywood Hills Villa Once Owned by The Killers’ Dave Keuning

Academy Award-winning actor and producer Brad Pitt has added another remarkable property to his collection with the purchase of a $12 million Spanish-style villa in Hollywood Hills. The residence, once owned by Dave Keuning, co-founder and guitarist of The Killers, offers a blend of classic architectural charm and modern luxury.

From Rock Legend’s Retreat to Hollywood Icon’s Residence

Dave Keuning purchased the Outpost Estates home in 2020 from Grindr founder Joel Simkhai for $9.6 million. Over four years, he and his wife, interior designer Emilie Keuning, transformed the villa into an elegant retreat with an emphasis on entertainment and comfort.

Initially listed in June for nearly $14 million, the property sold to Pitt for $12 million, giving Keuning a $2.4 million gain. The sale was represented by David Parnes, Sam Collins, and James Harris of Carolwood Estates, with Pitt represented by Marci Kays and Jonathan Mogharrabi, also of Carolwood Estates.

Elevated Hillside Location with Sweeping Views

Set behind gates on more than a third of an acre, the home commands panoramic views that stretch from Downtown Los Angeles to the Santa Monica Bay. Built in the late 1980s, the two-story villa spans 8,385 square feet and includes six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

The entryway features a dramatic wood-beamed foyer leading to a spacious living room with a stone fireplace and steel-framed French doors opening to the landscaped backyard. A second living area boasts an embossed tin ceiling and statement lighting, while a home office is lined with custom built-in bookcases.

Interiors Designed for Luxury Living

The formal dining room flows into a fireside sitting area and a modern eat-in kitchen outfitted with rich ebony cabinetry and premium Wolf and Miele appliances. Upstairs, the primary suite offers a Murano glass chandelier, fireplace, wraparound balcony, and a marble bathroom with dual vanities, a soaking tub, and a glass-enclosed shower.

Entertainment-Focused Amenities

The property includes a vaulted movie theater, perfect for private screenings. Outdoor areas feature a freeform pool with a spillover spa, a barbecue station, and a fire pit lounge ideal for evening gatherings.

A detached hillside studio, where Keuning once composed music, offers versatile creative space that could serve as a recording room, art studio, or private office.

A Coveted Hollywood Hills Address

The Hollywood Hills remain one of Los Angeles’ most desirable neighborhoods, attracting celebrities with its mix of privacy, city access, and iconic views. Residents enjoy proximity to the Sunset Strip’s dining and nightlife, as well as luxury shopping and cultural attractions.
