An extravagant Beverly Hills compound is being listed by a tech magnate for $85 million

Around 24 years ago, in December 2000, Jim Demetriades embarked on the creation of an opulent compound, starting with a single house he and his then-new wife Nancy acquired for $8.4 million. Never before offered on the market, the seasoned tech entrepreneur’s unparalleled estate named “Villa Theos” is now listed for sale in the sought-after Beverly Hills Post Office area of Los Angeles, commanding an impressive $85 million.

As reported by The Wall Street Journal, the gated enclave of red brick and stucco buildings required tens of millions of dollars to assemble. It encompasses the meticulously renovated main residence and several additional structures, totaling 13 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms across 28,000 square feet. Situated on two parcels spanning over 2 acres, the property boasts an array of premium amenities, including a bowling alley, nightclub, shooting range, and subterranean man cave/bunker accessible via a tunnel.

“Jim and I really sat down and thought, ‘OK, if we could have anything we wanted—the sky’s the limit—what would we want?’ And we just went for it,” Nancy shared with WSJ.

The outcome? A primary residence highlighted by an elegant formal living room boasting a reclaimed wood-beam ceiling, a wet bar, and an antique fireplace imported from France. Additionally, there’s a luxurious primary bedroom featuring a separate fireside sitting area and dual baths. Surrounding these spaces are numerous guesthouses and office areas, as well as a recently constructed “coach house” that houses an Old West-themed nightclub complete with a disco ball, plush velvet sofas, and a custom 50,000-watt speaker system with subwoofers integrated into the ceiling.

Moreover, there’s a subterranean man cave/emergency bunker outfitted with bulletproof doors and a 4,500-bottle wine cellar. Lastly, the resort-style grounds offer stunning views of the city lights and ocean, featuring around 140 fruit trees, multiple areas perfect for outdoor relaxation and entertaining, an infinity-edge swimming pool, and even a chicken coop.
