The current owner is Limoneira, the California agribusiness and real estate development company, which acquired the estate in 2009. Sotheby’s International Realty has indicated that Limoneira could continue managing the vineyard and broader property operations under a separate agreement following a sale, and the estate’s longtime on-site general manager may also remain available to the new owner.
This continuity of management could be particularly attractive to buyers interested in maintaining the vineyard as an operating business rather than converting it to a purely residential estate.

Auction Set for Monterey Car Week
The sale will be conducted by Concierge Auctions with no minimum starting bid. Online bidding is scheduled to open on August 5, with the auction concluding through live bidding on August 15 during Monterey Car Week.
The property is currently listed by Chris Atkinson and Patty Murphy of Sotheby’s International Realty.
Concierge Auctions CEO Chad Roffers said the estate has the potential to appeal to multiple buyer profiles, including vineyard investors, equestrian enthusiasts, hospitality operators, and long-term landholders.
Celebrity Provenance Adds to the Estate’s Appeal
Celebrity ownership alone rarely determines value in large agricultural estates, but it can enhance visibility and marketing reach. In this case, Trebek’s long association with horse breeding gives the property a more authentic connection to its equestrian infrastructure than many celebrity-owned ranches.
