It’s been just over five years since actor Adam Goldberg paid $2.5 million—$200,000 above the asking price—for a renovated 1950s home in Los Angeles. Now, The Equalizer star and his designer/illustrator wife, Roxanne Daner, are looking to sell their traditional residence in the tranquil Los Feliz neighborhood for just under $3.5 million, marking a $1 million price increase. The listing is handled by Robert Kallick and Laura Martinez of Compass.
The property, set on a fenced and gated lot of less than a quarter-acre, features a wood-sided and brick-accented house designed by architect David Freedman in the early 1950s. The home, which has been modernized since its renovation by the previous owner, includes five bedrooms and four bathrooms within over 3,300 square feet of two-level living space, retaining many original architectural elements. A detached two-car garage is situated at the back.
Notable features include a stone-clad foyer leading to a combined living and dining area with a white brick fireplace and accordion-style glass doors that open to a covered balcony with a spiral staircase descending to the backyard. The adjacent kitchen boasts marble countertops, a subway tile backsplash, a large apron-front sink, an eat-in island, high-end stainless appliances, and a cozy breakfast nook.
The main level also includes a laundry room and four bedrooms, including a primary suite with a private balcony, a walk-through closet, and a bathroom with a two-person sink, built-in tub, and separate shower. On the lower level, there is an additional bedroom and full bath, along with a kitchenette and a fireside family room that opens to a patio and a heated lap pool.
The 53-year-old California native, known for his roles in TV shows such as God Friended Me, Fargo, Taken, Graves, and The Equalizer, as well as films like Dazed and Confused, Déjà Vu, A Beautiful Mind, Saving Private Ryan, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Zodiac, is also a filmmaker, musician, and photographer. Earlier last year, Goldberg and Daner acquired another renovated midcentury-modern home in Nyack, New York, for $1.3 million.
