A buyer has been found for Zsa Zsa Gabor’s Mid-Century Modern Hideaway in Palm Springs.

A luxurious Mid-Century Modern residence located in Palm Springs, California, which served as the desert retreat for Hollywood icons Zsa Zsa, Magda, and Eva Gabor, has recently been acquired by a buyer.

Outside, there’s a pool and plenty of room for entertaining.

As of Wednesday, this famed three-bedroom house, intermittently listed on the market since last year with its latest asking price at $2.6 million, is under contract. Details regarding the buyer and the final sale price will remain undisclosed until the transaction concludes.

Mirrored walls feature across the home.

Constructed in 1964, the property exudes vintage allure, boasting features like mirrored walls, stone floors, metallic ceilings, and heart-shaped wrought iron accents, perfectly suited for its previous owner, interior designer and vintage enthusiast Tracy Turco.

The home is full of retro charm.

“I’m drawn to the nostalgia,” Turco shared with Mansion Global. “I prefer preserving a mid-century kitchen over modernizing it.”

According to records from PropertyShark, Turco and her husband, Jerry, acquired the property in 2020 for $1.74 million.

An oil painting of Magda Gabor remains in the home from her tenure.

“We were in search of a prestigious piece of real estate,” she explained. “We wanted to immerse ourselves in the rich history of old Hollywood.”

Originally constructed for Magda Gabor by her husband, builder Arthur “Tony” Gallucci, this residence was a perfect fit. Magda resided there until her passing in 1997 at 81, after which Zsa Zsa moved in following her sister’s demise, as noted by Turco.

It takes in views over the surrounding mountains.

Upon the Turcos’ occupancy, the 3,441-square-foot dwelling was adorned with furniture and antiques left behind from Gabor’s era. Even an oil painting of Magda and a handwritten note from the socialite and actress, bearing the safe combination, remained.

Preserving the Hollywood glamour was paramount for Turco, leading her to maintain the kitchen, bathroom vanities, and original chandeliers.

The property was built in 1964.

Featuring expansive vistas of Palm Springs and the San Jacinto Mountains, the home welcomes visitors through grand double doors into a spacious formal living area, complete with a marble fireplace and those distinctive mirrored walls. Additionally, the residence boasts a formal dining area, a gourmet kitchen with marble countertops and the original Hungarian rotisserie, as well as a breakfast room, according to the listing by Brady Sandahl and Jan Ray of the Brady Sandahl Real Estate Group at Keller Williams Realty.

A gold bathtub is a particular highlight of the home, according to the seller.

The primary bedroom boasts a sitting room, a dressing room, and a bathroom adorned with a gold tub, a cherished feature for the Turcos.

“It offers panoramic views of Palm Springs,” Turco remarked. “Bathing amidst the cotton candy skies felt like a scene from a movie.”

Outside, the property features a two-car garage, a pool with blue mosaic tile-work, lush landscaping, a fireplace, and ample space for outdoor gatherings.

“You know, I heard someone say on TV, ‘we’re merely custodians of the original owners’ property,’ and I couldn’t agree more,” Turco reflected. “I adored it, cherished it, even welcomed our baby there; every aspect was extraordinary and inspiring.” However, she added, the allure of the Portuguese countryside now calls to her.
